How is FiSH window Cleaning as a franchize? Make sense owning one?

No
Just build your own the right way (which you can learn here). You don’t need the franchise fee and unclassy training fish will teach you. Buy your wcra membership and it will take you further than anything fish can show you.
I would stay away from any franchise. Too costly and you end up working for the company. Imho
I am here: Google Maps
Don’t make that mistake. As stated above. Join the WCRA and Thrive.
Being a FiSH franchise is kinda like having a personal trainer vs going to the gym alone. They make you work and they make you work really hard. If you don’t hit your quotas they take the franchise away from you. Its very embarrassing for the lowest producer in a region to go to regional get togethers. FiSH is a very competitive corporate work environment. If you need pressure to succeed I highly recommend FiSH. You’ll loose all your money if you don’t succeed. It’s kinda like having a job working for a slave driver. They’re winners because they are forced to produce!
PS
I never said they are great window cleaners.
I haven’t heard anything good about Fish at all. I know that you still have to find all of your own work so why not do that for yourself and join the WCR, and hire a good business coach. We hired one in July and just had our best quarter in 5 years. Beside Fish has a pretty bad rep with other window cleaning companies, do you want that to follow you? Just saying!
Will Chris and Alex take your business away if you get lazy and complacent and stop growing your business? How do they make you work harder than you want to work? Just saying FiSH is successful because they know how to work together as a team of winners. How many FiSH franchises fail? Sounds to me like they are wining based on posts I have read here.

Fish is not wasting time complaining, they’re making money.
Concerning your question, you need to do a thorough investigation yourself. It’s a big investment but it could be what your looking for.
Check out WCRA also. It could be what your looking for.
Fish franchises last a year or 2, then fold, then Fish keeps the phone number and address of said failed franchise and sells another one.
At least thats the way it is around here.
Start from scratch and take the money you would use to buy a franchise to start your OWN business. Learn all you can here this winter then go balls-out in March, you’ll be sitting pretty soon enough
I really kinda laugh at all the negative comments about Fish here. I worked for them for 2 years and did not have a negative experience doing so. But it opened my eyes and I knew that I could start my own business and still have an advantage over them namely costly royalty fees and so forth. You have to admit they are successful or we wouldn’t be here talking about them so often. The franchisee is the one that makes the calls. Some franchisees end up lowballing to get business, have a revolving door of employees, and simply don’t do well. Not because of Fish, but because of how they run their franchise. This is not recommended by corporate but many franchisees still try and run their business this way.
I would say gather as much data as you can about the franchise and make a decision. I personally don’t see a need to be in a franchise for window cleaning. Fish does offer a lot of support and experience but they also have baggage in the way of poorly run franchises. If you don’t know what you’re doing then they may be able to help. But honestly I’ve learned as much here as any Fish big-wig could offer me. But I also saw it firsthand for 2 years how they operate.
The thing about franchises is that overall they have a much better success rate then individual startups. But if you educate yourself enough with places like WCR and are motivated I think you can be just as competitive and probably better than any franchise. It’s just window cleaning and it’s really not all that complicated. Best of luck.
FISH - You really want this as your business name. Think I’ll open a restaurant and name it “Squeegee”
Haha you should just start a business and once you make a little money, buy a Corvette cause the payment on a Vette after 8k down is the same as the fees they charge monthly, the difference is the Vette will look cool when you pull up to do a bid. Why pay to have crappy shirts, and stinky little $15.00 storefronts and have to answer to them as well. I never see Fish and when I do its pulling out of a bottom feeder storefront.
Buying a Fish Franchise is like paying to have a Boss, you are nothing but a glorified independent contractor and you still need to find jobs. Fish is successful at selling franchises to fools dumb enough to buy the snake oil they peddle. You can only offer the services they promote and can’t ever expand your contract cleaning business, be smart, stay independent and answer only to God, your wife or husband…and the IRS. Basically I’m saying you already have enough people to answer to
Great post Mark. I agree with everything except the stinky little $15 storefronts = I won’t do another residential job until mid February, but my little storefront jobs will pay all the bills until then.
Sorry man, what I mean by stinky is 20 pane storefronts for 15.00 and junk like that, we have 15-20 dollar fronts too but 5 panes and such.
Off the subject, you guys are in a pretty cool area. My Grandparents used to live in Sand Point right by the big lake. They now live in Nine Mile Falls, pretty good that you have all those homes to handle in that area
I’m not endorsing or bagging on Fish. It’s not for me. But I’ve met some pretty successful “fools” who own Fish Franchises and are doing pretty well. One is right here in North County. And if you ever got a chance to meet him, I’m sure you’d change your tune pretty quick.
Sandpoint is a very rich area. Going into next year we have Total Online Domination in this area (and several other little areas) - It’s over 80 miles each way, but all of these accounts are priced Primo…
If I had room in my signature area, this is definately signature worthy. Well said, bravo !!
Funny how nobody here found my posts appealing. Haha
I sure do love to play the devils advocate.
