So I normally don’t see sales people, I push them off on someone else in the office. But this insanely attractive sales person just came in selling phone book ads. I sat there and talked to her for no reason for 10 minutes.

I think they do… But they also probably command a higher salary… does it balance out? I was gonna go into this 1 phone book anyway… Or would I have? No actually I was planning on going in this 1 book and it was just a coincidence.

I worked for Yellow Book briefly. The top leaders were mostly young beautiful women. They dressed hot but not to hot. There were some guys who did well but there were definitly more good looking gals on top, because they had an advantage. In sales your numbers are on a board for everyone to see and awards are handed out weekly. So I’m not guessing, this is a fact.

I have had this exact same thing happen to me before! A very very attractive Yellow Book rep stopped by my shop about 4 years a go and I was totally taken back. I felt like Austin Powers (please allow myself to introduce myself:D).
She was smokin hot and set me up with a listing (what the heck - it was cheap advertising). The following year she called back and wanted to sit down again to go over my next year advertising. Sure I said. On the day of the appointment, some short fat gray haired guy shows up and says that he’s my new advertising rep:eek:.
Looking back- it probably was a plan.
When I was in high school, my best friends dad owned an auto repair shop. There was this local auto parts supplier that used young girls (18-22 years old I would guess) to run parts for them. They had about 8 of those little Geo Metro cars that delivered parts to local shops in the area. Every girl was also smokin hot. We used to beg his dad to order parts from them when he needed a part for a customer. Im sure there were alot of mechanics that used them for the same purpose just because of all the eye candy.
Young attractive community college students are a good choice to choose to clean screens and pass out flyers. Plus, most window cleaners like a little eye candy. They are easy to find every summer.
I think housewives like clean cut young college guys who are on the go and moving somewhere inside their home.
A good combo is two guys to clean the windows, and a hot screen babe who goes door to door with flyers in between her screen cleaning duties.
I was just talking to Curt Kempton about this, just a couple days ago! Problem is, when I talked it over with the wife…she put a halt to that before she could even think about it. Yes, they DO sell well.
The last company I was with had a rep, really hot, and she would keep the lines of communication open with all the builders…and I mean EVERYONE was talking about her when she left. She closed deals left and right, funny thing is, HER MOM WAS THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY!!! She KNEW that she could get everyone in line by using her, she knew it and so did her daughter. I would love to have that.
Well…since Chris brought it up…and its in the same ball game…What about a super Hot attractive lady to Close deals on Commercial route work? Say she is trained/qualified…yada, yada, yada…Since most route work is a face to face type of deal…would you think it would increase-decrease-no difference in landing jobs…

Both worked at MCI selling telecom. She pulled in over 200k per year, he worked his butt off to pull in 50k. Keep in mind this was the mid to late 90’s and it was easy to sell telecom. She would say “I have a meeting with the director or purchasing or the ceo” it was never a meeting with the head of sales or the regional manager etc. He was always fighting to just get the contact. She always landed the sale, he was 50/50 at best.
She also asked me one night to help her with her books and spending because one of the years she spent 70 grand on clothes and another 100 grand on a benz and could not stop spending. Both made the same comisson but she always hit the higher mark and got more bonuses. Till this day they both work the same jobs but with verizon, she is no longer 25 years old and the same with him. She owns her own home on the navisink river and he still rents an appartment. True story. Hot women or good looking women will always be better sales people as long as they have 1/2 a brain.
I have been trying to get my wife and my helper to go out and do sales for me. Both very attractive and I know would have a better chance then my ugly butt getting to the right people and making the sale. But they are scared. lol
The college guy thing does work too, I was at a party the other night being introduced to some people, and a slightly intoxicated woman keeps saying “So you do windows?”, and her friend that we had stained for keeps throwing in “And Decks!”
So I finally asked her, “Mike stained with his shirt off didn’t he?” and she replies “YES, he did!”
I would never let any of my window guys work with their shirts off, but then again none of us are 22 year old muscleheads:D
It does pay to be good looking in business. However there may be some who might waste her time, just to be able to talk with her but with no intention of buying. Her sales on account of being hot probably balances out the wasted time. A friend of my aunt asked her if she thought I would clean windows with my shirt off. She said she would be willing to pay extra :D. I just might hire women in bikini’s to clean for me in the summer and charge a premium…but really, who hasn’t thought of that?
