I am new to window washing and the boss sent me out alone. I am having trouble with windows drying to fast in the sun. Is thee a better solution for cleaning to keep tham from drying so fast or should I be using a different type of rubber
if youre asking this question, your boss shouldnt be sending you out alone…
what kind of solution do you use to clean windows?
Wet your windows more and work faster!!
Exactly…
Glass Gleam 3
No doubt I have to get faster… i was just hoping till I got better at and faster there may be some tools and cleaners over others in the sun. I’m tryin’
i dont use glass gleam… my guys hated it… but my advice would be the same as aintjemamas… especially since i have a guy who just started back after a couple years away from window cleaning and streaked every window in the sun today (which i had the pleasure of rewashing)
more water on the stripwasher, work faster… wet less panes at a time or wet less of the pane and overlap if its a big piece of glass
experience will help… its one of those growing pains, especially when your boss just drops you off to do a job…
Thanks folks…I’ll keep at it!!
i didnt know there was hot sun in nevada this time of the year
try living in arizona and clean windows in 110 F in direct sunlight or wind.
i wash the windows either in small sections or follow the mop with a squeegee

You could use a backflip from Ettore.
Sounds like a training issue:
would an umbrella help 2 shade the glass?
You’re kidding, yes?
How about chasing the shade around the house?
again a training issue… Larry yur killing me man
There’s always the put the strip washer in one hand and the squeegee in the other. One wets and the other pulls. If your doing ext. pole work the “Back Flip” will help beat the evaporation problem. As others mentioned. Wet the glass more. You may have to cool the glass down by wetting the glass twice. Trial and error. You’ll get the hang of it. If all else fails, ask the boss to take you out for another day of training. (Which in my opinion should of been a lot longer training time. Best to you.
Maybe get a new boss
And please don’t tell me you work for a company called Fish, please.
Get them windows WET!
Who is this Ken? Hey glad to hear from you.
Cleaning windows in direct sunlight on a hot day is pretty difficult if youre talking about perfection. The two handed folllowing (strip washer and squeegee fanning) is the shizzle. Hard to learn though. More water less soap maybe??
I just use Glass Gleam 5 it stays wet for 2 1/2 hours.
If you are using a pole, another trick is to wet the window, then sop your wand with water and slap it near the topof the frame. It will buy you a few extra seconds to squeegee the water off before it dries.
