Picked it up today. Crazy amount of driving, but totally worth it.
We need a nickname for this new one. The '05 is the ‘Brave Little Toaster’. We need something that conveys its ‘bigger brother’ nature.

That’s awesome. My wife suggested “six slot”, based on the same idea. But I think it sounded too much like “sick slot”. I like “4 slice”

Those cargo volume specs says everything. Nearly 40% more volume than the 1st gen.
You’re making me miss my Xb bro haha
Awe, sorry Dan.
Maybe you’ll get another one someday. They’re sweet vehicles. There are some things I’ll miss about the little toaster, but 4 slice is such sweet car to drive. Who knew it was possible to climb hills and actually accelerate in 5th gear?!? Lol!
I got my 2nd gen Xb from a kid who straight pipped the whole exhaust…no cat…loud as hell! Haha
Manual …6.0 Release Series…I’d haul ass on the freeway…they’re so much fun to drive!
Drove it up to Big Bear to do a job for a client…np hauling ass up with my 16’ extension, 6’ step, and 4sectional piece ladder on the roof rack.
Let it go at 214k miles…didn’t know how long it would last me so I had to say bye
Saddest part, the kid I sold it to…totalled it within a week!
Hahaha no…I had a feeling he would crash it.
After I handed him the keys…he peeled off…dumbass…
When he test drove it, he was also driving like a retard…taking corners at like 40-50…doing 60 on a two way street.
I wanted to take issue with your comment earlier, about the mileage. But you’ve got a point about the rust. I went to jack up the little toaster a few weeks ago, and the jack went right through the rocker panel (yes, at the proper lift point). That’s when I decided I needed to get serious about finding a newer vehicle.
But if you can manage to keep a 'Yota cancer free (and do basic maintenance, you know, change oil every 20k or so…), they’re good for 300k+ miles, easy.
