Lady ask me if I would consider a senior discount?

Quoted her $99 for a gutter cleaning. And $10 per downspout flush, told her I remove all waste. Asked if she would like me to schedual her for later this week. (All in email) she replies “would you consider a senior discount?” what would some of you “vets” do in a situation like this? Thanks

Discount on 109? Depends. Are you as hard up for the money as she is?

I’m not one much for discounts but it’s hard to say no to a little old lady. That said, she could be a life long chistler…

Great advice thank you

All you have to say is no sorry we dont our prices are very reasonable already. That will never be a deal breaker.

Always good to go over your target market demographics and raise your prices. Just my 2 cents.

Raise your prices, $99 gutter cleaning is a steal, I only do gutter cleaning for $99 if I’m there cleaning windows or power washing.

Stand alone gutter cleaning should have a minimum service charge, that way you’re able to make money to cover expenses still.

Have to agree on the min. Have a set min and say this is my min.

I always give 5% to seniors if they ask. My dad gets that at Denny’s.

What’s your profit margin? She’s probably asking for about half of it. Haha

5-10% is usual discount for any senior citizen discount I know of, if she wants half, then she can find someone else or get half the work done lol

cave now and she will ask again next time.

10% is half of your profits. I believe most cleaning business have about a 15% profit margin. Discounts skim the cream, the profits, right off the top leaving us with enough money to cover our expenses.

I’m not McDonald’s

The reason is simple I’m not selling product I’m selling a service so a discount is discounting labor. But I’m not above doing some mirrors for free for nice old lady because it takes 5 minutes but the price is the price

$10 discount. Bargain shoppers look for anything.

This is a future dropped client in the making.

Outside of any special promotion you’re running, I wouldn’t offer any discounts regardless of age, gender, job, looks, pet status, missing limbs, etc. All those 10% here and 10% there discounts start adding up quick.
