All my personal tax information is in my dropbox. Let me know when you get it, or don’t
I still think its much safer then having it in my home. Much more likely to have someone rob your house then steal information from a secured website.
I do dropbox & a password protected hard drive for my backup needs. I keep contact information on paper and that’s it. One page per person. 200 clients takes up less then 1 filing cabinet.
I agree about it’s not a good idea to store customer’s info on servers I have no control over. you don’t know what goes on at these places or the people who run them. or what happens when they go out of business? who keeps all that info??
heck just last friday a large supermarket that happens to let someone store it’s customers info got hacked into and everyone’s emails were stolen.

I think some of you are being way too careless with people’s information. all of those online service systems you are using are bad ideas too.
even intuit’s (makers of quick books) online says right in it’s terms it stores info on potentially unsecure servers in other countries.
NO WAY would I ever put anything of mine or a customer’s info on something like that. remember you guys are storing payments and all on those things.
computers you have at home, the hard drive can be encrypted and password protected to keep people from accessing anything on it if it gets stolen. plus you can install tracking software. as soon as it connects to the internet you know where it is.
