So, I had this customer want only a few select windows cleaned by me because “he does the rest” and blah, blah, blah.
The wall of windows he wants done is very complicated because of the architectural design. Some last minute changes found them putting a brick fireplace in front of some of the glass and creating a nightmare trying to access the glass behind the fireplace. In addition to that, it is new construction with all kinds of residue and tape, silicone, sealer, etc. on the glass.
So I quoted $400 for ins/outs post construction and a waiver required. Customer balked at the price as I suspected and that’s fine but I’m just curious what your CCU pricing would have been? There are a total of 18 panes.
I don’t want to be outrageously high even when I’m bumping the price up a little.
Almost non-existent. If you can get the ladder in the right place you might be able to get a pole in there but when you pull it, it will hit the frame and there’s not much room to move the pole away from the glass.

Great. So you can sweat your brains out on CCU for 8 hours and then the customer who is unhappy with the price can sit in his easy chair all day and inspect your work in the most unforgiving of light…
Do you have sectionals? Shouldn’t be too much of a headache with a good set of stacks. I would do one-armed side pulls with a 4’ garelick pole for the space between the chimney and glass. Use an angled scraper, or angle adapter due to the shallow pole angle.
Yeah, I’m booked out 3 weeks anyway, but I’m a little gun shy because I just had a customer tell me that the word on the street is that I’m pricing myself out of the market. So, I’m just doing a little research here.
