Just got my first storefront and I have a question. Do you bring your bucket in the store with you when you do the inside? I know alot of you have a belt with a small little bucket or something on it but until I get that how should I do this? What about having an empty dawn type bottle I can fill with my solution and just squirt right on the applicator? I could just bring bucket inside but I don’t want to risk spilling it. Kind of a dum question but I am pretty nervous about my first job.
Do this. Meyers dish soap bottles are my favorite size and type. Leave the big bucket outside, but out of the way so nobody trips on it while you’re away.
Yes that works fine. Like Samuel said keep your bucket outside away from foot traffic.
You can bring your bucket in if you really need to. I’ve brought mine in for years an years. When doing insides I always have a small terry cloth towel with me for wiping up . I like the idea of a squirt bottle if it’s a small store that’s the way I go these days. I stole Sameuls idea of a little squirt bottle of just soap to along with my solution bottle. I love it ! Always could use a little xtra soap directly to your wand sometimes
Don’t be nervous bro !! it’s just window cleaning… wet em up squeegee them off , an wipe up your mess it’s that simple .
Is that a belt? Where did you get that?
Thanks. I dont have a belt yet so I will just have to figure out what to do with applicator when im squeegeing. I think im over complicating it
Hold it in the opposite hand from the squeegee hand.
Yes your over thinking it.
You can also set it on a window frame ledge ahead of you.
Yes that’s my belt , An yes yiur over thinking it.
You will always change your set up over time. Whether it’s your belt , bucket , vehicle , whatever.
Just go in with your bucket. Everything in the bucket. Strip washer , An squeegee that’s it. RAg in pocket towl in pocket.
I’ll take a pick of my bucket for ya when I get home. I’m sorry , I know a lot of guys like that dopey square bucket. Forget that use a 5 gallon round bucket. Dip one side flip over dip other side , then ring it
Only way to go. 5 gallon round. Through a hose on the handle an a couple of U hooks
Holds a squeegee or your scraper.
Lol I do need some new buckets though
Ya I’m going to add 2 u hooks to mine.
Edit: you know what Mike @Majestic66 when you post a bucket pic a few years back I said I was going to do it, and never did (lame)… remind me this weekend
I like the idea of hooks I might have to try those thanks
Stupid question, how?
without cutting the plastic on the bucket on one side since the metal handle is bend behind the plastic lip.
Ya Steve it’s a PIA , but somehow ya have to twist it out of there. It might seem like your breaking it , but it will give , an pop out it’s easier going back in.
You could use a big screw driver for leverage !
The hole will get a little bigger while your forcing it out , but it will not effect the handle staying in.
I just ordered 2 new buckets , so I’ll be doing 2 soon
That’s the whole idea of these forums in my eyes. To get ideas from people, An also to learn a better way of doing things.
Belive me what , an how I do things is not from me it’s ideas , An know how from other people In the trade , An I certainly don’t know everything still learning
Okay thanks Mike.
i have a bucket on a belt… (ninja)… i take it in when i do storefronts.
I did mostly high rise work on a bosun chair back when I started window cleaning. But now that I’m doing my own, and doing residential regularly, I’ve got a Bucket on a Belt. Went with the Moreman. Holds my Ettore gear perfectly. I get why guys use em, its awesome.
