When I think back to how many hours I wasted chasing realtors in the early days of my business, I get a stomach ache…
What’s even more frustrating now, however, is this:
Realtor: " Hey Andrew, I know it’s last minute, but I need you guys to go out and clean Mr. and Mrs. Smith’s windows and pressure wash their home by today or tomorrow at the latest. It’s about a 5,000 sq ft. home."
Me: "Oh, wow…ok…umm…
Realtor “Oh and also pressure wash the pool deck and driveway. It’s got to be all finished by noon tomorrow when the mover truck comes.”
Me: " Well, we’ve already got today booked up and I don’t know if it’s…"
Realtor: " You guys did a job for me like 3 years ago, so I know you’ll do a great job this time too!"
Me: “Ummmm…well, I’ll see if I can reschedule our customers that we already booked and try and help you out. Ok, yes, we can make it happen. Our charge will be $1500 for the complete package. How will payment be made?”
Realtor: “WHAT!? That’s crazy! Billy Bob from Billy Bob’s Cleaning said he’d do it for $600.”
Me: “Ok…you should probably call back Billy Bob then.”
From my experience, relators always call at the last minute and [B][U]ALWAYS[/U][/B] complain about the price. Have we gotten some work over the years from them? Sure, but more times than not they are a hassle to work with/around. I’d focus my efforts elsewhere, like for instance, a property manager
