RHG reach around - mine broke first use... Anyone else?

Ive been using one on my primary brush, and had no problems at all with a few uses.

However, today i used one on my secondary pole, and it snapped literally on the very first stroke of its very first use!

im sure WCR will take care of me when i call tomorrow, but im just wondering if anyone else has had any issues with theirs? $18 bucks is pretty pricy for a solid piece of plastic with zero moving parts, so i’d atleast expect it to hold up more than that. Given how easily it broke, im not a little worried considering i could have just as easily had a 4" razor blade drop from a 3rd floor window-- rather than a scrub pad.

Please send a photo of the broken part to [email protected] and we will replace this for you at no cost to you.

sounds good, thanks a lot.

heres a picture just for the thread, will email as well. just wanted to see if anyone else had this happen. not sure how much detail will show up in the picture, but i notice theres a random white chunk of plastic in the middle. not sure if that was some mistake material that found its way in during manufacturing or what, but it could be the culprit?

going to post this picture at full size, just so youre all warned.

Thank you for the photo.

Can you tell me out of curiosity, what pole you were using?

And you mentioned a primary pole and a secondary pole. How many poles do you have?

Also, please clarify if it broke on first use like the title of the thread states or if it was after having used it previously on the primary pole like the body of the thread states.

Thank you.

I was using it on just an unger aluminum telescoping pole.

My primary pole is an Ettore Aquapure 35’ composite pole.

I dont like to use a 35’ pole to clean 1st story windows…

It broke on its very first use. I ordered a RHG reach a couple months back, and have used it a few times on there with no problems. Liking the product, its functionality, and its time saving attributes, i decided to purchase another one to put on my shorter pole. Well, come time to use it on the short pole, removing some bird dirt on a first story window, i wet with the brush, flipped it around to hit it with a WCR swivel pad white, and it just popped on the first pull.

i sent a VERY detailed email to the address you provided, because i wanted to be very thorough and offer up as much info and suggestion as i could.

I have one of the very first ones and it(2 years or so old) is still enduring the daily beating. I also bought a 2nd one with no problems to date.

Ouch

2 new ones went out to you today.

Thanks for buying RHG Products.

I have beaten the hell out of mine and it still works great. I wonder if you just happened to get a weird batch of plastic on that one. Mine is actually missing part of the thread because of rubbing against shingles when I was trying to get to a skylight…They are made well.

1up

This, I think is outstanding service, direct from the manufacturer. A polite inquery about the problem and it is taken care of.
Dale

I have three, on three different poles. The oldest is 3 years old, I believe. Never a problem.

good stuff. yep shawn has been quick to reply and get this handled, and i do believe i just got a random bad one.

customer service has been great, from WCR as well.

Ha! Mine just broke yesterday, but I have abused it almost every day for a couple of years. Good product!

so i ended up having one of the replacements break as well, 2nd day of use!

im not sure if its the odd chunks of plastic within the body of it, or what, but my speckled one i had broke just like the first.

i mean, i dont get it, i cant be doing anything wrong here… First one broke with scrub pad on it, second one broke with a tbar applying ecover to a window…

i still use the first one i bought without problem-- was there a change in manufacturer/material?

Hey Josh,

What are you doing to these things??!! Sorry for the crummy luck with the product, literally the first time I have heard of this.

I know Shawn from RHG is out of town for a few days so he won’t see this in time so I’ll pull one and send it out for you today. If this breaks… we’ll get you something made of metal.

Keep your eye open for that UPS man.

Wow, that is some serious customer service!
