Service CEO Hurting My Business

Now they’re saying it won’t be up until today at 10:00 Eastern, what a nightmare. This pretty much ends my relationship with Service CEO… Reliability beats functionality everyday of the week and twice on Sunday

Wow - I would be so mad if I was using the online version. i feel your pain, your business has been basically crippled.

I used Service CEO, but it is on a server in our office. I worked for a large insurance company and when internet or T-1 line went down, we usually just sat there. Cloud computing is neat, but there could be problems, everything from power failures to solar flares. I just place everything on a jump drive and move it to my laptop and my computer at home. I can also log into our office computers from the any where thru the internet. Our computers are backed up every night via Mozy Pro. Our IT company get a report every morning regarding our computers and advises us if there was a problem backing up. As everyone is aware, the information on our computers is important and is the basis for our busines. I just think about the worst case senerio and try to plan for it.

1:30 Eastern and no phone call, no one answers the phone, and still no service. I really can’t believe this is happening.

So what are you doing about the work on your schedule?

That really sucks to hear!. Im really scared for you and your business’s. I sure hope they get this fix asap for you all!

That’s ridiculous!! I hope you get everything up and running soon!

Fortunately, I had the app syncing with gcal so at least I know who we have scheduled. The big issues for me right now are billing, knowing who to make reminder calls to, and pending estimates I need to follow up on. Basically everything :frowning:

Me too, it is now 6pm Friday, 2 full days with no access to any CRM info and they aren’t even giving a time frame for recovery. Their only announcement is that they have recovered the main database so you can call them and they’ll email you whatever info you need. What a joke…

You should have got the customer factor… ha ha ha

Well, I can’t argue with that. I actually liked CF but chose this one because I was already using SCEO desktop, and there was a very smooth transition. Does CF offer an absolute guarantee that their servers will never crash?

I would not want to rely on someone else’s server for my data. You need a backup. Doesn’t it work that way?

If you are relying on them for your data, what will they do if you cancel?

well i have been with the customer factor since 2005, servers were never down for me.

Starbrite - I’m with you and love Customer Factor - However I think the “ha ha ha” to Steve is out of line. If your business was crippled in such a way, how would you feel if someone laughed in your face. I wouldn’t like it - at all…

I’m sure that wasn’t your intention but it’s the way I read it. Or maybe you and Steve have differences ?? Either way it reflects poorly on your part.

PS: Not trying to pick a fight with you, just pointing it out. You seem like a good guy and maybe didn’t realize how other people could view it. Or again, maybe I’m missing something.

Really? Well I have ridden my motorcycle many times without a helmet and never crashed either, does that mean I never will? You still didn’t answer the question: Does C.F. offer an iron clad guarantee that their servers will never go down?

As I said before, I may switch to customer factor but this issue is more about online computing and having a contingency plan than it is about one CRM over another. Any of them could go offline at any time. I just go an email from another company that hosts for us and because of Irene they are saying to make backups because they can’t guarantee what is going to happen.

Bottom line is be prepared.

Im kinda surprised they havent come up with some sort of hybrid cloud and local service. Data could be stored and accessed from multiple places… Im sure its coming soon.

I was thinking the same thing because that’s the way Evernote works. It would be a solid step forward for sure.

Steve, i am sure the servers can go down, just a risk you have to take. Then again the customer factor is not run by a big corperation like service ceo, it is run by one person, kinda like a 1 man show window cleaning company, which me superior customer service. If you do not want a web based program, my second choice would be smart service. They use a desk top version

I am now spoiled with having access to my data from multiple platforms and locations, it would be hard to go back to only having a single database because I travel a lot and have a home office and business office. I am actually looking at Marketing Automation and Small Business CRM Software | Infusionsoft now. But no matter what route I take, I have learned that I need a strong contingency plan. Thankfully this outage was “only” for 2 days.

sounds good to me
