Infusion soft is pretty amazing. Steve you might want to talk to Curt Kempton… Hes one of their power users.
And then you can have your hard drive crash and loose time and data. Went to the cloud this past winter when this happened. Rethinking again, knowing it’s just a commitment to back up everyday to an external source.
Talked to Steve with Customer Factor today - He said if ANYBODY tells you their servers can’t crash, they’re lying to you. He also said - The reason he’s had such good success with his servers not crashing is because of the hosting company he pays a pretty penny for.
Even with Steves nightmare, I would still probably pick a cloud based solution over a desktop. I use a desktop now because Im just so locked into it… At this point I think I have about 8 years worth of data. Eventually they are going to stop supporting my version and Im going to be in a similar situation.
Any word Steve??
Oh yeah, it came back up Saturday but I’m not using it yet because they restored an earlier backup of the database so I have to figure out tomorrow what I need to re-enter to make it sync up with Quickbooks, and that’s going to be a pain.
This was their explanation of what happened:
[FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3]in an effort to address some performance issues our clients have been experiencing, we recently made some maintenance updates to our database on Wednesday. These updates did improve the speed of the application but also required us to reboot the server farm the next morning. After we brought the database servers back up, some of the Oracle database services did not restart successfully. It was determined that we needed to re-install Oracle and restore the databases to each of our servers, a process that took significant time and resources to ensure it was completed correctly.
