Stack Ladder Junkies

Alright you fan boys, please tell me a good setup to pick up now that they’re no longer making half sections. I was considering picking up a set, as there are certain times and jobs it would come in handy, (although slower than my good ol’ extension ladders) :stuck_out_tongue:

I can’t imagine being limited to only being able to adjust a ladder by 5’ at a time…

Or is it now impractical?

Three pieces.

You will use 3 pieces more than anything else.

I honestly don’t use a half piece much.

And do yourself a favor, don’t use the word “limited” until you’ve actually used them.
(unless your ext has a v-groove)

Welcome to a whole new world, my friend.

I should clarify…
I carry a half, but use 3 or 4, on 99.999999% of my typical day.

And I don’t even bring an ext ladder unless called for a (height, not convenience) special occasion.

 • 26 years+, dude.

Well they are the most practical ladder I own. I only use them for just about every ladder situation.
U could probably get by with 3 to 4 pieces for how your going to use them. But the top and bottom is my favorite ladder set because it’s like having a compact small extension ladder. I don’t use extension ladders any more but I have thought about buying an extension ladder again. For special occasions.

Sorry for interrupting again…

But I should disclose that I don’t do first floor work. For the most part.

So, hopefully that perspective helps.
The half pieces are used, just not much by me.

I realize that lessens the weight of my argument, but I need to be honest.
Sorry.:o

For that special occasion when you decide to paint your house.

Bought stack ladder 18 years ago from someone getting out of the business, he said they were 10 years old when I got them. I use them about everyday. I only carry my sectionals and a 4ft stepper most days.

If anyone’s selling a set, I’m all ears. I’m running into situations where I think to myself, “man… I wish a had a stack set.”. The alaco is the one I’ve liked the most.

I have a set that sits in my storage that I don’t use.

I took the levelers off and put them on my extension ladders. I’m just not a fan of them. I live near Buckley and Hampden in Aurora. If you ever want to check them out let me know.

Right on. Thanks for showing me the kit. I really want a set for modern homes I’ve been doing.
Mainly stuff like this…

Thanks Alex,

I shot you a pm.

All step work in the front. Built on a hill-side, the back is 30+’ work. Rocks on the west facing side.

A lot of homes like these here. A stack set would be awesome.

I don’t… It’s like a big office as a home

Now that I’ve done the job, I wonder if setting on a vertical frame would have much advantage over setting an extension on a horizontal beam with ladder gloves (which I did).

It was a scrub job. Steel-wool on every exterior. Pretty hammered…

I’m just concerned how it would be carrying 5 pieces linked over a hillside of round rocks…
