So from what I can tell they are only making 6’ sections. Top half pieces as mentioned, but also no 8’ tops. Gave them a call and they’re definitely not planning on bringing them back. Bummer.
Should have my set up and running this week, but I have a feeling I’ll quickly be grabbing another base to cut down to a half piece - otherwise I don’t see them working around here.
Do you mean the rest of the pieces seem to sway a little?
Is there a gap where the pieces come together?
I have an issue with the way I transport my ladders, if they are not placed in the bed just the right way they end up bending if/when I close the tailgate on them…
(it’s usually the middle pieces that bend outward at the bottom, which creates a gap, and allows movement.)
It’s not much of an issue with me, I like really loose ladders, I shuffle a lot.
but I think this may be what you are seeing.
Hope this makes sense, if not, I’ll try to get more detailed.
If I’m reading you right, the problem is
The bottom of the middle joins outside of the top of the base.
You will probably see a gap where they connect when/if you look tomorrow.
From my experience, it’s usually the middle pieces that have bent out, not usually the bottom bending in.
But thats just semantics in this conversation.
Either way, one of your rails has bent.
Solution: Rubber Mallet
just curious: why does it matter if your stacks are loose? i actually prefer them loose, easier to take apart. is it just a feeling of safety because they don’t make micro-shifts laterally like loose ones? or some other thing?
It’s been loose for twenty years, but since last week it’s been a bit overkill carrying four or five sections with just the base wobbly loose isn’t the best.
