Speaking of stacks, here is a little trick I do that saves me so much time.
I didn’t see that first video till just now , those stack ladders really don’t look like to me to be much of a improvement to the one’s here in the states. I never checked into those as far as cost . I liked the ramsay window cleaning ladders because I feel the point is more functional and a nice wide base for stability.
Once you go stack, you’ll never go back.
alaco
We need to design a ladder and get a company to make it. I think a carbon fiber stack would be amazing.
That’s why I like them better than our ladders.
PS
I think having rubberized feet on EVERY section is a great idea as well.
I like crutch feet because they have a bigger footprint. I like the way you stow the chair feet in the ladder rung holes. Great idea I hope my crutch feet fit in the hole.
Don’t think I would trust a carbon fiber rung, 15 feet up, after all this talk about pole sections breaking.
That is so damn great!
We use chair tips on our sectionals, and rarely use the bottom section.
They work great, but you do have to watch them for wear and don’t want to pitch out to far (if they are in poor condition or you pitch beyond 45 degrees they can blow out and you will drop fast).
I also don’t personally use them beyond my standard set of 3 1/2 sections, normally. Third story work on hard surfaces I will break out a bottom piece, otherwise it stays in the trailer.
I use the top and a half middle piece with crutch feet on the bottom together all the time. 9ft
I wouldn’t let the folks at Metallica ladder see me doing it. It’s frowned upon. Considered unsafe.
PS
If you hire help I wouldn’t recommend giving chair feet to your employees. OSHA frowns on it as well.
It’s sad to see Metallica frowning on people in their old age. Back in the day they were the ones frown upon.
Technically it’s unsafe to use the crutch feet the way we do.
If you’ll always be working solo yes because it’s a better ladder but if you’ll be building a team, finding pieces down the road for your crew will be easier if you just stick with Metallica
PS
On second thought NO because there must be something else that you need more than a small ladder upgrade. It’ll cost close to $1,000
Edit: uploaded an HD version, now that I have wifi.
We need a couple more videos made! Go back and set up your extension ladder. When you’re done figuring that out shoot another video of you setting up the little giant in that situation. Could it be done? Would it be funny to watch?
My lil’ junker wouldn’t be tall enough. But it would be hilarious trying to set up in that confined space.
And an extension… I don’t even know how I’d get it up the stairs (this was on the second floor).
Btw, I re-uploaded the video, in HD.
You were lickady split uppin that stack man
Who builds these homes? Idiots? Do they give the design any thought or consideration? Must be Curly, Moe, and Larry Inc.
