The Mennonite Mafia

Anyone wrestling with Mennonites trying to run their turf? I hide my secret well from them but my neighbors like to tell them I’m making doe… They are a force to be reckoned with. At least where I live. These people suck up any work that seems like it might make any money. Plus, daddy has $300,000 In the bank READY TO GO… Ready to compete with ANYONE… How do I head off Mennonite competition before it starts?

Hire this guy?

Never heard of them, until now…

Is this a real thing? Or is it just that they’re hard workers and go after all the work they can?

In my area it would be hard to criticize the mennonites because they do good work, they work hard, and people like them. It’s not like you can say “they dress weird, hire me.”

I’m a little bitter in this department… In my area these people run amuk. They post signs around saying you’re damned to hell…Leviticus 13-14… Yeah they’re hard workers but so are we. If they see a good business they are all over it. To these Mennonites they know nothing about window cleaning but once they find out there’s money in it I’m going to have to make changes to work around they’re clamoring effect…

Okay… I’m in central PA. This is Mennonite TURF…

If you are getting stomped by the menos maybe try switching up your unique value proposition. Work in thong and mesh tank top. That’s an unassailable market position in central PA.

Great idea Caleb… I GOT it. I’m working in thongs and Kaitlin’s bra… I’m sure these goody two shoes will be so scared window cleaners are from the devils world they won’t even try to advance into MY territory… If they do I’ll dress like this…

Aw man… :frowning:

That can never be 'unseen.'
Thanks for that. As I’m going to bed…

Sorry man… Had to be done…

When I worked in the RV industry in Elkhart county, Indiana; we had the Amish mafia. There was a good mixture of Amish and Mennonite. A lot of the good factory lines were all Amish with a the “English” forming a minority. A lot of times a good way to keep your job during layoff times, was not being a great worker, but how many Amish you drove to work!

There was a few that were really cool guys, a lot that were nice to face, but talked behind your back. And, then there was some that thought they were the elite race/religion. Now that I’ve been out in Denver; I kind of miss them, 12 years of working side by side with them.

Join ISIS - blow the competition out of the water…

What do skin diseases have to do with salvation and damnation?

Oh man!!! I know this is to late … But I would of stayed up till I got that fresh out of my mind.

blaming others for your failure could be the problem. Just work harder and do a better job

For some reason I lost my ability to like post. This is great advice! I used to worry about bucket Bobs, or in your case bucket Grabers low ballers. This season I have raised my prices considerably higher. I just make sure I’m doing my best, and have confidence that I am one of the best cleaners in town. I don’t worry about competition; there is simply too many windows to clean.

Seems like not everyone likes 'em: Mennonite leader choked to death in Kentucky home invasion | WKRN News 2

Except for going Detroit on them, I guess you could hire them.

That’s Kentucky. That doesn’t count. It was probably just a friendly disagreement.

You know that Samuel L Jackson “What’s In Your Wallet” slogan.
In those Capital One commercials?

It ain’t no slogan 'round here…

I SAID… what’s in your wallett?!?”

I’m telling ya, these guys don’t mess around…

Of course at a good 12mph clip I ought to be able to get four jobs done compared to their one.
