Uniform alternative

Has anyone thought of using a vest like this with company logo on front and window cleaning on the back in place of uniforms? My thinking is more on reducing cost as the vest would last longer and be re usable from employee to employee. Employees would be responsible to wear khakis and a specific colored shirt which they would purchase. Any thoughts? Yay or nay?

so then they would be like walmart employees

As a posed to the t-shirts most companies do? To me there on the same level just different (just in defense of the question itself). That said I am wanting other people’s impressions so I appreciate the input.

Keep in mind it’s not just Walmart that uses vests. Hotels use them and I can’t think of others of the top of my head.

Starbucks would be another example. They use Aprons.

We clean naked with a company logo tattoo…
Yes it may reduce cost but ugly as hell to me…also it’s another layer of
clothing to wear…I like polo’s with an embroidered logo, caps with logo, khakis.

I get your idea and glad you put it out there.

I don’t like it personally and think a polo or even t shirt would come close to price and give a more presentable image.

We use something like this but brighter for our lift work as we are in roadways and is required by state law, so I have no choice there.

Hey I appreciate the feedback. It was an idea that I had doubts on myself so I thought I would see if others had the same hesitation or if it was just me.

For me it wouldn’t bother me at all if my brand was more generic. To me it would be the perfect fit. No pun intended. Right now though that is not my brand.

Imo it looks kinda ugly and i think it’ll be too hot in the summer. And i can’t help but imagine one guy cleaning the windows while another holds a flippable stop/slow sign.

I get the reasoning behind the idea…but my opinion is no. I would hate having to wear that for window cleaning. I wore a Starbucks apron for many years…this vest is not the same thing

Thanks for the input. Just to be clear the pictured vest is just an example. It is jot the particular vest I would use. I would use one that is light and mesh in the summer so it wouldn’t really be hotter.

Also the thing to think about is that it would allow employees to wear what they needed to depending on the weather and still be in “uniform”. They could wear jackets sweatshirts etc. And as long as it is the right color they would be in uniform and still have the logo and window cleaning on the outside.

For me I think it would be great for commercial. The questionable aspect would be for residential.

If all I did was commercial I would so do it.

Company t shirts are much more cost effective, what happens when it’s summer and hot? Or there’s a bleach spill from power washing? Or a gnarly gunk splatter from gutter cleaning?

Khaki dickies pants/shorts depending on the season

Hoody or zip up hoody

T shirts

Winter jacket & hats (optional for winter months)

Very simple dress code/uniform policy and makes everyone look presentable but also cost effective.
