Isn’t this like the “got dirt” or “got dirty windows” deal. Sounds dumb to me that someone takes a word or phrase and now nobody can use it.
I guess…
I would love to attend the NOLA event so I can learn all about SoftWashing, then maybe I can add SoftWashing to my business this coming spring, I would then be able to offer SoftWashing to my regular customers, I would have to explain to them what SoftWashing is and then I could show them what SoftWashing is. Sorry but I won’t be able to attend the SoftWashing event this year. But I do plan on offering SoftWashing this coming sping anyways
Pete: you do realize that it’s okay for you and me and others to use the phrase, but perhaps not those in competition with the mark holder or someone who might affect the mark holder’s business.
Until he presents the trademark documents, starts using the trademark logo on his SoftWash text, or directs any of us to the location where it is registered, any request to cease is just words with no force of law. If he does indeed hold the trademark, It should be respected by all of us, regardless of any personal opinions about AC, or his company.
One day it could be any of us fighting for our own trademark, copyright or patent being infringed upon, and how do we want to be treated or discussed?
I believe he could have been trying to use WCR’s SEO power more than trying to flaunt his freedom of speech.
Softwash Softwash Softwash, that has to be the dumbest crap I have ever heard I would not give that guy a cent

Incidentally Bayer came up with the name ASPIRIN but it can be used as a generic term
It’s a non-issue.
