Just got back from a residential bid, the house has a very large sunroom with extremely dirty glass. I’m not sure if using my water fed pole will work, just picturing a muddy mess. Do any of you walk the frames on the ceiling? I’m also considering just hosing it down and finishing with WFP, any ideas?
Yup !! Hose it done first ! Scrub it with a white pad if need be also.
Years ago I went to bid a customer’s atrium and he insisted the manufacturer said it’s safe to walk on the frames. I mainly use the pole/squeegee method so was reluctant to Spiderman my way across this nonsense and he basically labeled me a pansy, and I left.
I’m still alive, and still a pansy.
Depends on the construction of the sunroom to whether or not you can walk on it, if it were me I would soft wash that sucker with a 2% SH mix and then WFP, the SH would melt that organic material right off.
Haha, I hear you. I’m wouyrather not walk on it
What’s SH?
I have done it many times, safely, if the beans are structurally designed for weight. Most of them are. The bean will be about 2’ wide and about 4-6" thick. Be safe ! Watch for soap and water under your shoes. Always work toward a dry area. If it’s not a high on you can pole from a ladder. Good Luck !
Thanks everyone, I have walked commercial slanted glass but wasn’t sure on residential. It’s all good didn’t get the bid anyway (going to do it themselves) can’t say I’m disappointed
Sodium Hypochlorite also known as liquid pool chlorine.
Thanks Steveo is that sold as a 2% solution and do you you use it for any other cleaning
No it sold as 10-12.5%, you will need to mix it then apply it, I use a 12v pump. It is used for all exterior cleaning.
That’s what I would do. Safest most effective way possible.
SH stands for Sodium Hypochlorite. The Typical house mix is SH, a surfactant (Elemonator), and water.
I agree. Would say the same. Nice @Steve076
