Where I clean outside cleaning are not a breeze. Therefore we do 60-70%.

No matter how relatively easy it is to do outsides only, you’ll never be able to cut your travel time and travel miles in half. To me, that alone justifies more than 50% of total.
I do 60%, but I’m thinking on upping it to 70% when there are screens to deal with.
A house like that ya 70 % ok 75 %
There is an old saying " The more you buy the cheaper it is" 60 % is fair on easy houses
Regardless of the job, travels and time expenses need to be taken into account so I agree with this.
I personally have a pricing formula for the outsides to take into account of landscaping, condition in windows issues etc, and the insides to take into account of furniture and possessions.
Insides are generally easier than doing the outsides (but everything is judged on it own circumstances), as such insides carry a lesser charge and i prefer to get the full job done (in and out) rather that what I see as a half job (outsides), therefore the pricing is valued that way to try and entice the full job to be chosen.
I don’t know. It’s all relative. Some insides are a pain and I can’t wait to get out of the house. Other places the outside sucks because of trees or some stupid bushes. I have a storm job coming up and every window inside has shit in front of them to move. I’m not looking forward to working in this lady’s crumby house just to move AC’s, beds, and tvs just to clean windows… Arrgghh… I hate storm window dirt bag house jobs…
I have done two hoarder houses and they suck. I made customer mover there crap out of the way because I didn’t want to be held responsible for breaking junk.
I can’t stand doing inside jobs. There is something about being on the exterior that makes me feel better, even if outside is muggy, humid and super dirty I prefer it than being inside with ac. I see the value of doing in and out and I will do what my customer request, but that is my preference.

When I did residential my partner hated being on the inside and I loved the ac talking to people. It worked out well for us. I always asked him where he wanted to start. He only chose inside if house was empty
I charge 66% of in and out price.

I think I may change my approach after reading this thread. I’ve alway just lowered the price a little on each window…ie…if I charge $8 in/out for a window, I may only charge $5 for exterior only. From now on I may just charge 65-70% of the interior/exterior price. Never 50% though. I’ll show the customer the value of having the interior AND exterior done vs. exterior only. If I charge just half then there’s no incentive for someone who is on the fence about getting the interior done as well.

Same here …my partner always out and me the big mouth on the inside…
66% for exterior here as well. 2/3 of the work, generally speaking, gets 2/3 of the price

I think you posted the wrong pics… and you forgot the “hard part.”
I understand incentivizing the job.
{cust asks for outside only, and you push for the whole thing}
Yes. That much I get.
But I’m starting to get the impression that some of you guys believe your own sales pitches…
So let me make sure I’m on the same page.
Because I’m admittedly a little slow sometimes…
When a cust calls and wants “Outside Only,” you take the full job and back out the insides?
(which in turn, makes the outside price 60-80-whatever% the whole?!?)
Meaning, you rate the outside 60-80-whatever% higher on the “Pain In The Ass” meter?
Along those lines, let’s play pretend…
“Inside Only” would be 20-40-whatever% of the whole?!?
Yeah just for pretend. I charge more depending on what kind of mood I’m in. Maybe I like the guy or gal. I might charge less. If the person sucks… Well ohh up city here I come… Piss me off and the price goes up. Say what you want. That’s my stylee…
Bouganvillia’s suck. I have 4 of them across my back fence. Looks great until they die. Then you have to trim them and those thorns are no joke. I thought I could bypass paying my landscaper to clean them. Screw that.
Which brings me to why landscapers do put cactus and thorns in front of windows.
Trailer Park Home Security.
Read: super cheap and easy
If it wasn’t for those bushes, cactus, and whatever painful obstacles they would clean the windows without us.
Just a thought. (Was going to say “just sayin” but may be considered by some a NLP Jedi Mind Trick.)
I see where your coming from with the inside only. Fortunately, I’ve not had anyone ask for just inside. However, if I ever do I would probably have to charge it at 40-50% to make it worth it. But you raise a valid question. If the house is $200 in/out, at 60% outside only that’s 120, $80 for inside only which would actually fit with my $75 minimum so, maybe I would charge inside only at 40%but that would mean I’d have to start charging exterior only at 60% instead of 66% which on a $200 job is only $12 difference. Not that big of a deal. Thanks for helping me figure that out in the event an inside only ever comes up.

I don’t have an issue with that (or in general, “just talking”)
I have a couple of ladies that I would do for free, if they would let me.
