25 degree is what I use mostly. With any pole tool I’d say rule of thumb is the closer you get the higher the angle the further away the lower. But I know @wcs likes working with a 0 degree all the time . So it’s what works for you
Hey man Im trying to give this Excelerator a go, if i didnt see value in the concept I wouldn’t work so hard to get it right
The excelerator worked like a charm the last 6 stops we did today, its all about that angle!
Thanks for your advice Luke!! much appreciated.
I’ve also worked at 25 degree most of the time, but even then hade some difficults. But I’ve done som tweeks here and there, even in my technique. I’m sure it will work out better now. This Friday it worked fine.
It’s a good tool, but I have to say it demands more of you if you compare how it works if just pick up a Sorbo, Ettore or a Unger squeegee.
I wonder how many “this tool sucks” issues are related to this problem? If you’ve been using the same setup for any amount of time, muscle memory sets in and without thinking about it, your brain and sense of feel just go the the angle that has been programmed from all the repetition. In theory, as long as your channel is straight and rubber has a clean edge, you should be able to properly clean glass with the proper angle and pressure.
Almost all of it…newbies don’t seem to be having all the problems that many ‘vets’ are having. Years ago I purchased a Sorbo 18 because of a couple of colleagues raving about them. I had been trained with and used exclusively to that point trusty old Ettore Brass. I tried the Sorbo a couple of times, couldn’t get it to work and tossed it in the shed, not for one minute thinking it through and realising that the handle to blade angle was steeper than my Ettore. The change to Wagtail was different because I understood that to get this very different tool to work there would have to be a technique change. This change taught me to be more ‘intuitive’ with my tools so that now I can pick up almost any brand ‘dial it in’ with a few straight pulls and away I go. Dragged the Sorbo out of Mothballs a few months ago …yep…no issues.
