Work Belt Setup (for the newbies)

I don’t feel it to be cumbersome, but I also just really enjoy having anything I might need right there on my hip.

So has anyone changed their work belt set up for the up coming Spring season…

Post up some pics if you have!

I’m in the process of changing it up, I tried out one version yesterday at a residential job.

I’ve noticed I don’t need all of the tools I once did. I used to work on the ocean and had the salt air beating up windows that I cleaned. Now I work in an area with mostly 1/1s and the occasional storm job. So the need to carry so much isn’t there anymore.

I’ll get some pics up later, it’s a very simple belt and I love that there’s no clutter. Just gotta find a home for everything on it

Route belt set up. I don’t use a boab for route work gets in the way. I do use it for resi though.

That’s almost identical to what I use for tools on route, minus the belt part.

I just ordered a mini bull ring to put on my belt for my pants, I keep dropping my scrim when I scrub lower doors and windows lately

Ya, I want to get a new belt one that has holes like a belt that you wear around your pants. I just started using the ecover bottle for my solution an it fits great in that slot I have it in,so now that’s wear I keep my scrim for ragging the glass, an the other scrim is for wiping up tables, chairs floors a customers head what ever. The bull ring is great I keep my 6" squeegee for ledges in there.

Do you use a full scrim I get mine cut in half for route work I like it that way. I use full ones for resi .

I cut my scrim in half and then I have them hemmed nice and pretty. The half scrim is the perfect size and I still only use one a day. On route I use a scrim for detailing and I’ll use a huck towel (sow times a sea sponge) for cleaning up any large amounts of water inside a store or to wipe a door frame if it’s real gross.

I can’t say enough good things about the scrim though, I’m so glad I gave it a shot because I hardly ever use huck towels anymore.

Mike thanks for sharing the pic…I agree route work you really dont need the boab, I still use it sometimes to do route work.

lol!!

Looking forward to seeing what your new setup looks like.

Glad you finally decided to lighten up a little Mike, lol.

Ya im going to be switching up to. Im going to do the belt concept to, I think it will feel more secure and won’t move as much!

How many windows can you do with the ecover bottle of solution?

I switched my scrapermate to the left side the other day. I’m all discombulated now but I’m too lazy to take everything off to put it back on the other side.

I’m waiting on that Ninja scraper that is coming out soon. That holder looks nice so I want that on my new and improved belt for residential work

I actually looked through all of these posts to see if anyone else runs a set up like mine and no one does as far as I can tell. I have a leatherman and an Unger BOAB with 2 squeegees and a wetbar…that’s it. I am all about the cargo pants / shorts with a scraper in the leg pocket and hanging a towel over my shoulder. No pouches, no hooks, no hammer loops…just simple.

You got a pic of your simple setup Jason, if you do posted it please!

Steve I saw this belt https://www.google.com/search?q=rhino+work+belt&rlz=1T4WQIB_enUS535US535&biw=960&bih=464&tbm=isch&imgil=auzP98-Dv6XUPM%253A%253Bhttps%253A%252F%252Fencrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com%252Fimages%253Fq%253Dtbn%253AANd9GcTl7nIK6MXoda3VmrZbBwM-8kbABCSrLp0TIm6U-t8yD_lSQjyx-g%253B600%253B600%253BBtvxUdxKf3pVuM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.sierratradingpost.com%25252Fblack-rhino-pro-grade-tool-belt-with-pouches-nylon~p~1021y%25252F&source=iu&usg=__FaECoLlSi9oxcMszlWU32hfqlMw%3D&sa=X&ei=YTMuU4DYOZLE0AG0kIGADg&ved=0CF4Q9QEwAw#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=auzP98-Dv6XUPM%253A%3BBtvxUdxKf3pVuM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fs.stpost.com%252Feccstorefront%252Fproduct_images%252F1021y%252Ff_1021y_1.1.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.sierratradingpost.com%252Fblack-rhino-pro-grade-tool-belt-with-pouches-nylon~p~1021y%252F%3B600%3B600 in a building supply store I clean didn’t buy it that day, but I think im getting it next time im there $25.

I’m not sure how many never really counted. Now I’m curious, If I had to guess I would say 10-15 if they are not really that dirty. I use that mainly for when I go do an inside so I don’t have to bring in a bucket, and also if there are 3 -4 stores one dip from the bucket in the van, then if I run low I don’t have to run back to the bucket. Yes I bring the bucket out of the van if there is a lot to do . Getting older have to start working smarter an carrying the bucket in an out every stop Is not necessary. I just started doing the solution an my belt maybe a about 2 years ago, and its definitely makes a lot of sense the ecover bottle fits perfect in that pouch .

Yeah Im always looking to simplify my way of doing things too!!

Thanks for the info Mike.

I have the awp from lowes. I posted pic awhile back in the thread.
Page 23 Nice comfy belt, but bigger than i had been use to.
Just bought the belt no pouches as i had one already. Maybe like $19 i think.
I you just want a leather two hole belt. Home despot has one tan, no padding just belt.
Have it and use every so often.
