Work Belt Setup (for the newbies)

Thought I’d throw another one in.

      front back

I call this the 1-belt system as I just use my existing belt and not another belt over the top of my regular belt. I can configure this different ways to suit the job, but this is mainly how I roll. Smokejumpers belt will cincg up nice and tight so I never lose my cargo.

In fact I set my shorts up the night before, so I just jump in these babies, grab my coffee and hop in the van… and I’m off.

(I cut 2 slits in the Ettore pouch so I can squeeze the pouch between 2 belt-loops)

That is what you call dedication to being on time to a jobs site. (or another way to catch a few more minutes of sleep).

Thanks for sharing Jesse!

No pics but pretty simple. Unger BOAB on the right, Bottle holder, Ettore pouch in the back to hold scraper and track brush, Unger big pouch on left to hold Scrim and microfibers.

Thanks for sharing Big B.

Big B I’ve been meaning to get one of those big pouches. Looks like it could a lot of steel wool, white pads etc.

Yep, that big pouch from Unger is awesome. I normally dont like rags hanging from my belt. I like everything tucked into that pouch nice and neat.

Like Polzn Bladz on YouTube in the UK. They all seem to keep their towels tucked away in a poach over there.

Yeah i got one and it’s definitely a great product. Couldn’t do without it.

It also holds my 6" sill squeegee from the loop and business cards in the little pouch.

Warning: Be sure to have good towel discipline. Having a bunch of towels at hand is an easy way to blow through a bunch of towels. Oh, and if you put your keys in the bag and take off your belt off to put it in your van, be sure not to lock your van with the keys still in the bag. Or else you’ll be hanging out in Shiprock with your “Hey Buddy” under the “No Loitering” sign of the grocery store (the only one) while your ops manager takes an hour to go out and get you their extra key. (Not that that has ever happened to me. It’s just an example…)

Thanks for sharing BostonMike and JaredAI !

I’ve thought about getting a big pouch for my towels but I like the idea of my scrim drying out as it hangs from my bullring.

What’s on Polzn Bladz belt?

Thanks BostonMike for adding this Great video to the thread!

I’m just starting, but after reading this thread, have revamped my single-belt with double apron huck-towel system to this. Will be trying this out tomorrow for a good number of storefronts. Leatherman and small scraper are in the large tool-kit. 6" scraper is on the leather holster, and I’ve sawed off an aluminum DIY type ettore squeegee for sills and drips that no longer worked well for glass. I’ll be using various sized squeegees and T-bars, but will primarily be using 20" for both. I still run through a good number of huck towels, so the big pocket is nice. Dirty hucks will hang from my bucket handle.

Happy to see this thread help out Keith. Thanks for posting the pic.

I just realized I’m putting my aluminum ledge-squeegee on top of my magic eraser thing and my steel wool (thinkin’ this may scratch stuff from ledge-dirt). I’ll probably put my razor in the chamois pocket and holster the ledge-squeegee where the 6" razor is now. It should be quick if I flip the closure under the belt.

Besides the obvious stuff, the most useful tools have been the car upholstery tools I use to lever out fly screens, and lift off security doors. Flexible but strong and don’t scratch frames etc

what’s the green pad?

Thanks for posting a pic Davo!

Nothing special, just a mild scouring pad I use on non-tinted windows for oil n grease spatter etc.

Be good if you talked about how you use them and where you got them.
Nice belt.
