EBC Window Cleaning Soap

I just placed an order the other day as well. Hopefully, there are some more samples available.

I had an order, no sample for me :frowning:

The warehouse added samples into any orders that texted us and asked us to put it in their order.

Perhaps EBC will be the new soap we add to our Glass Gleam 4. Just a creative thought.

Sounds like an expensive solution EBC+GG4, Frankenstein soaps!

I’m hoping to try the EBC by itself, EBC/Ecover, EBC/GG4, and EBC/dawn

ā€œI’m hoping to try the EBC by itselfā€¦ā€ Mike: I think that would be the best outcome if it meets all expectations.

I hope so, if it performs like the GG4 but can break up fingerprint grease better I may have a new soap

After using the EBC today I can’t say I was impressed.

I had one bucket of just EBC, I wanted to see how it did on it’s own. There was no glide, only time it went smooth was using a big wet dunk in the bucket soaking the glass.

My second bucket was EBC/Ecover, same ratio I use the GG4/Ecover, that worked great. The glide was drastically improved.

Overall I did do a side by side comparison, so next week I will see when I go back to the job just how well it did. Once I added the Ecover it was a great solution, but since I have almost a full quart of GG4 I won’t be making the switch to EBC anytime soon.

GG4 and EBC appear similar in the shine they leave once you’re done cleaning the window and the way there is hardly any glide when using them by themselves. Once I added a couple Ecover squirts to the mix each soap got that much better.

How is everyone else with the samples doing?

Reminded me of glass gleam.

Same here, didn’t seem like anything special. Especially when I used it without Ecover. It’s too bad these soaps can’t get that glide and some suds, I like seeing if I miss something on the glass easily

I always used a soap bought from a local janitorial store. Great glide suds and made the Windows very shiny tried glass gleam and finally found out why slip was important to people,

I’ll be trying out my EBC today. It won’t be a fair comparison. The EBC is going up against my usual mix of GG4 with a bit of Ecover added. If EBC can beat that combo she’s a keeper if not why bother?

Thanks for posting guys. I’ll adjust my expectations accordingly before going to work today. I was hoping that the new soap would be just like GG4 but with extra glide.

There didn’t seem to be as much glide as some people said. I wonder if you’ll have similar issues, get back to us on here for sure

There’s a reason people love Dawn dish soap on here. It has great glide and cuts through grease. Unfortunately it leaves a residue on the glass.

Dawn is great, but since I found gg4/Ecover the shine it leaves that’s longer lasting than dawn is just amazing

Keep us posted on your results Mike

I don’t know why window cleaners want just 1 magic soap. I have found that different situations require different mixtures. I have a mix for super salty ocean-side windows that’s more acidic, I have a mixture that’s more alkaline for greasy windows, and I have my regular mixture for ā€œaverageā€ conditions. I premix all my solution in 1 gallon jugs and label them accordingly. No wasted time mixing on the job.

I find it’s best to not discuss the details of my ā€œspecial window cleaning solution.ā€ If customers ask what’s in my jug, I tell them it’s a propriety secret. I tell them it’s biodegradable and safe for their house. If they want more info, I can give them a MSDS. Trade secrets are perfectly acceptable to have.

(I learned the premixing secret from Dale Fuller the organization king)

I’ve been using the EBC soap all morning and my first impression is a good one. GG4 fans should give it a try Dawn fans don’t bother.

Unless it gives me more time to play with my children, I’m not interested lol
